The Global Crises Of Leadership
The global crises* of leadership have a clear common denominator, namely, lack of moral authority.
The global crises* of leadership have a clear common denominator, namely, lack of moral authority.
In a world plagued by corruption and uncertainty, one thing is for sure, moral authority has reached unprecedented low levels. No doubt about it, the world’s moral authority is in tatters.
It has been said that economic malaise is the reason behind protests around the world, but I disagree. Economic malaise is a consequence of corruption begotten by the lack of moral authority.
Societies’ values around the world and their sense of right/wrong have become pathetically twisted as tragically, but brilliantly, exemplified by the latest movie of “The Joker,” where the criminal and villains are seen as the right-doers and victims of an indolent society.
The question now is, what can we do about it? We don’t have a super hero to save us, do we?
Actually, we do, each and everyone of us can and should become a moral-authority super hero by making sure we stand up against wrong-doers, violence, and corruption, instead of just looking the other way.
Societies around the world must recover a higher sense of purpose based on moral authority, transparency and integrity if we are to have the most desirable and achievable future for all.
Take, for instance, bureaucratic institutions. Those on top still refuse to understand that in order to be truly efficient, i.e., sustainable, and fight corruption, they have to transform their restrictive, toxic, and tropophobic dominant hierarchies into enhancive, invigorating, and tropophilic non-dominant hierarchies.
Hence:
Ignorance + Bureaucracy = Innefficiency
Or gun control in the USA. The National Rifle Association (NRA) insists that gun control (or the lack of it) is not the problem. They strongly believe that the “culprit” behind mass shootings is a mental issue. It is patently obvious that those behind the mass shootings have a mental problem, but so does the NRA by refusing to face the reality that by making gun purchases easily accessible to anybody, their are facilitating these acts. Yet, the NRA clings to its ignorance.
When we analyze the behavior of supremacists and/or fundamentalists from the left and right, their ignorance/evil is patently evident. They cling to their narrow-minded and ignorant position in a futile attempt to show their rightfulness when in actuality they do the exact opposite. They deliberately choose to build upon their ignorance in a desperate effort to prove their “wisdom” without realizing they have just proven their evilness even further!
It is a moral duty and obligation of every human to move away from ignorance and evil by building upon knowledge and good towards a path of wisdom.
The more we open our mind and heart, the more we realize how much more we need to continue to do so!
*There are plenty of crises all over the world and these will not be resolved unless we deal with them head on.
